I love postcards. All kinds. Below mentioned are slightly more preferred -

# Handmade paper
# People - Natives, city dwellers, women warriors, revolutionaries/ visionaries/ humanitarians/ artists/ celebrities
# Local culture and everyday life - tribe, life style, houses, fashion, cinema, streets, local mode of transport, markets, food, spices, herbs/ cannabis, musical instruments, dance form, festivals, art work (traditional/ modern), historical events, folklore etc.
# Postbox, mail carrier, postman, telephone booth, bicycle, Polaroid, windmill, lighthouse, fireworks, maps/ destination routes/ bird's eye view/ city illustrations
# Vintage ad postcards
# Sci-fi, games, robotics, high-tech, 3D Lenticular
# Picture having a theme, story, message or a social cause
# Bizarre/ unusual, graffiti, art, Studio Ghibli, Star wars, Disney, Charlie Chaplin and pin-up cards
# Black and white, pop colors, silhouette, midnight, sunrise and sunset
# United Nation's World Heritage Sites, battlefields and ruins
# Anything different/ vibrant and pleasing to eyes
# Christmas/ holiday theme cards in December
# Birthday cards in October

I love theme stamps; and prefer my postcard hand written, nicely stamped and cancelled. So in case you are sending it in an envelope, please try to get it stamp cancelled first.

Also, if you wish then you may add train/ bus ticket, concert/ museum pass, bookmark, local advertisement/ leaflet, Incense papers/ sticks/ scented sachet, iron-on patches, tea bag or print coasters along with the postcard.

You may write on the postcard your favorite quote, things to do/ restaurant to visit/ best kept secret of your hometown, your hobbies, favorite movie/ book/ song, current mood, date and temperature etc.
