Zelkova

My name is Carla and I live in Genoa, NW Italy. I am an old lady, still feeling young.

I love trees, they are the most generous creatures of our planet, giving us green, leaves, fruits, nuts, wood, shadow, shelter and oxigen without asking anything in return.
Zelkova is a magnificent tree of the elm family (Ulmaceae). The one shown in my avatar is Zelkova carpinifolia in the park of the Royal Palace in Colorno (Parma, Italy) and it was planted when Marie Louise, Napoleon's wife, made the Palace her favorite residence and created a wide English-style garden. There are other extraordinary Zelkovas, such as Zelkova serrata, a sacred tree in Japan and one of the most long-lived tree in the world.

I do not have particular requests and I will be happy to receive any postcard. But I would prefer a postcard typical of your country, with the place where you live or a place that you love, the more unusual, unknown and apparently insignificant, the better :-))
And if you happen to have a postcard of Cicely Mary Barker series (flower fairies), I would be delighted and grateful to receive it.
