Dear everyone!

I'm very happy and curious to join this massive project. Sending and receiving postcards is always lovely, but has dwindled down hugely these past years. Every year on holiday, and even during the year just for fun, I send postcards to family and friends both in the Netherlands and abroad. So, receiving postcards from strangers sounds lovely!

Just a bit about myself. My name is Yara, I'm born and raised in Amsterdam. I've lived in England and Israel for a short period of time. I teach English and Dutch to young adults (12-16) who have psychiatric and/or behavioral problems. It's very interesting and very hard work! I have a 5 y.o. daughter, she's the sweetest ever!

I love to go to the theatre, to see plays/musicals/opera etc. or a movie theatre - I prefer art-house above commercially big produced movies. Writing, reading, cooking, meeting with friends, drinking coffee and traveling are also high on my list. I have a lovely cat called Apie - which is Monkie (yes, I know, wrong spelling) in English. Although he is an actual cat, he is also very ape-like and very cute and cuddly.

However, I do want to let you all know that I prefer real postcards. I'm not a big fan of Christmas or other commercial postcards. I really like black and white photographs, art and weird or peculiar scenes. I also love anything to do with books, reading, literature. I prefer, if you do send a tourist card, a card without text.. the less caption etc. the better. Thanks!

My daughter recently started to enjoy special stamps, she's collecting them with her grandfather. Any you could use would be most appreciated!

Also, could you please date your card? I enjoy seeing how long it takes a card to perhaps cross the world...
