Hello

My name is Veerle and I live in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. Recently I moved to Zelzate, about 15 min. drive from Ghent, a city where I've lived for 16 years and which is "Belgium's best kept secret" according to Lonely Planet (travel guide book publisher).

In my free time I like to read, puzzle and knit. I guess I love quiet and calm :)
Maybe because I'm also a single mom to a very active son of 8 years old. He's the light of my life, but often quite a handful ;)

I'm showing my postcards to my son, to teach him something about other countries and cultures, so please make sure your card is appropriate for an 8y-old (no nudity, no weapons,...)

Cards we'd like to receive:

* anything typical for your country or region: landscapes, buildings, bridges, nature and wildlife, food, traditional dress, maps, ...

* yarn, knitting

* books, libraries

* trains (my son loves them!) or related (trainstations, railroads, metro, tram, trolleybus, ...)

* Guillermo Mordillo (I have many of his cartoons as puzzles, I love them!)

* My son is learning about the continents in school. If you have a card that shows something from Africa, it's welcome (since the chances of getting a card from an African country are rather slim). He's also getting an introduction in history, so cards related to general historic periods or very important historic events are very welcome too (prehistory, life in the Middle Ages, Christopher Columbus, WWs, ...)

(P.S. The boy also loves cats, owls, hedgehogs, dinosaurs, Pikachu, Lego and Angry Birds)

If you check out my favorites, please be aware that there are both postcards I have and have not received, so if you'd send one from my favorites, it would be nice if you checked I haven't received it yet.

I would like it very much if you wrote something about the picture you chose for us, or about yourself, your city/country, ...

No double giftcards please and I prefer cards to be written and stamped.
