About Tjarda...

Hi! :)

My name is Tjarda.
I teach English at secondary school and love to travel. Up till now, I've only visited different countries in Europe, but I hope to visit South Africa, America, New Zealand and islands like Curaçao, Saint Martin, Dominican Republic etc. in the future.
Next to my (obvious) love for England, Scotland, (Northern) Ireland and Wales (culture, history and country), I enjoy photography (band photography, nature and cities/buildings/historical sights).

I know how to play the drums and the piano, am very much into music (mainly metal and rock, but also Irish folk, Viking and reggae), movies and love spending time with my boyfriend, friends, family and my cats.

I was getting sick and tired of the boring mail I mostly find in my mailbox, which is the reason why I started postcrossing.

I basically would love to receive any kind of postcard, but the following kind of cards are really welcome:
- cards of the city you live in (single view please)
- cards that have got something to do with the UK or Ireland
- historical sights of your city/country
- Scottish highlands
- Viking related cards
- nature
- landscapes
- music related cards (no bands please)
- black and whites
- cards with (old) maps on it
- Lord of the Rings (no Frodo please)/The Hobbit cards
- Doctor Who cards
- Outlander cards
- The Last Kingdom cards
- cards with sayings about teachers. The saying doesn't have to be in English, as long as you translate it for me
- Christmas cards in December! I absolutely love Christmas. I think it's the best holiday season (but please no folded greeting cards)
- Greetings from cards (https://www.postallove.com/Postcards/Greetings-from-series)

Please write whatever you like. Facts about your country, what it shows on the card, something about you, places you think I should really visit (also tell me why, please), what you did today, your biggest dream, a quote, something you think is funny, you're favourite book/series/band... Anything really :)
Could you also write the date on the card?

Let's make each other's day happier by sending a card!
