About Tatiana...

Student of Saint Petersburg University, Journalism Department, having a lazy cat at home and a large inside world in the head ;)
Do appreciate LONG LETTERS and ENVELOPES

Having been absent for some months, I've finally come back. What are the reasons of my absence? Well, they are not connected with studying only. For sure, russian post is not the best one and sometimes it turns into a hardship as staying in a queue takes a lot of time. In Russia you just can't put a letter or a card in a postbox nearby your house, you are to walk to the nearest postoffice, to buy there an envelope or just a stamp and to give your letter/card to a postwoman (an old slowminded lady) who is to put a special mark on it. After all these barriers only can you put your sendings into a postbox at the postoffice. So, you see.
However, I've got accustomed to this difficulty. Another reason is that I was disappointed a little bit in postcards I received. Of course, some pictures appreciates me, but many random users do not read my profile. Don't know exactly, but it seems so. It makes a sense they are sending just to send. For stats or a number to receive more according to their wishlist.
I see, it may sound not very polite, not very modest.
That is why I think I should clarify what postcrossing does mean to me.
As you know, the internet provides you with any information you want all over the world. You can walk down London streets with google maps, you can see the best Louvre pictures. So is it interesting to receive a classic tourist postcard depicting popular sightseeings you have already heard about? I think, not very.

As for me, the postcrossing is not about sightseeings, it is a great chance to realize far situated countries are not a piece of map, they do really exist and they do have something own specific, unique and charming. Postcrossing users are the only people to help you to reach it, especially if you don't have enough money to travel. That is why I'm much more curious about what you see out of your window getting up in the morning, what you eat for breakfast, where and how you spend your freetime - about everyday life details which you can't imagine could be special about. But (I persuade you) they are really special.

To receive your photo, a kind of collage made of instagram pics (as example) provided with some warm words about your day, your likes and dislikes, about your plans and ideas is what can really fascinate me.

However, if you consider it being too private to share, I'll be happy to know more about your national customs, popular nowadays hobbies in your country or standard food-set during a day. Then you can send me a card depicting
Van Gogh's works,
art (pop-art, abstract pictures, expressionism, impressionism),
old-fashioned advertisement,
water and sky views,
fashion pics,
pin-up,
famous people (Elvis! Audrey!) or
some kind of photo art (maybe something odd and amusing.
Drawn strange owls

Waiting for your sendings:)
