About Stimp...

Hello Postcrossers,

I live with my husband and our two cats. I like to read, go out to eat and drink good beer, photography, films, music and in general stuff that makes life fun and happy.
I love to travel, and I love postcards. When I travel I send them, but hardly anyone sends me cards from their trips, so I joined Postcrossing to get postcards. It also makes me so happy when I get a new address and look at what kind of cards that member wants. I prefer real postcards. Not folded greeting cards, and please, not in an envelope. Every card will be a fun surprise, but here is a list of what will make me extra happy:

*I collect what is often called "boring postcards". That is photos from, usually, the 1960's and 70's showing something very uninteresting from a town, boring interior of a place etc.
If you google it and look at images it should give you an idea of what I mean. It does not just mean "send me a card you think is boring". It is a term used for a particular type of cards.
*Old tourist cards, 1950-1980's. Send me the worst you can find and I'll probably love it.

*The Beatles, The Smiths/Morrissey, Suede, Twiggy, Winston Churchill, Monty Python/ John Cleese, Oscar Wilde, Bruce Springsteen, Robert De Niro, Katharine Hepburn
*Photos of famous people with cats
*Lomography, documentary and street photography, portraits, pictures of cameras
*Lighthouses
*Food, beer, restaurants. Silly, touristy ones are good.
*Dolls- especially Blythe and Sindy, Manneken Pis, Snoopy/Peanuts, The Cheshire Cat
*Lisi Martin, Magritte, Mucha, Toulouse-Lautrec, Norman Rockwell
*Kitsch art like Gallarda, Margaret Keane and similar "Big Eyed Artists"
*Moomins (and anything Tove Jansson)
*American "Greetings from..." cards. (And map cards and Greetings from... any country.)
*Horses: all kinds of ponies, Fjord horses, Icelandic horses, Irish Cob ("Gypsy Vanner/Tinker horse")
*Photos of animals. Favourites are foxes, otters, hedgehogs, seals, red pandas, cats (especially ginger/ginger+white cats. PLEASE no naked cats), dogs (especially Puli, Corgi, Basset and any long haired, fluffy dog) ... and any unusual, interesting animal.
*Reproductions of old advertisements and travel posters.
*Small, old cars (VW Beetle, Fiat 500, Citroën 2CV, Mini, Trabant...)
*Postcrossing cards
*In October: Halloween and birthday cards. In December: Christmas cards

My favourites are now only cards I have NOT received but would like. This does not mean I didn't love the card you sent me! It is just to make it easier for people.
Please, don't worry about what to write on the card. Something random will make my day! What you had for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Your favourite pub or restaurant where you live. What you have named your pets and why. Anything really. If there's a story about the card you're sending me, that would be fun to know.

Happy postcrossing!
