About Alexandra...

Hello and greetings!

I live in a small town called Veghel in the Netherlands but am originally from Bonn in Germany. Currently, I'm studying for my bachelor's degree in Fine Art, in preparation of my life as an (hopefully not starving) artist. ;-)

I live with my partner and our two sweet cats (who sometimes even listen to their names, mostly when I'm waving a treat).
There are plenty of things I enjoy doing, which is part of the reason I chose to become an artist: Painting, drawing, sculpting and taking photos, of course. But also reading, gardening, cooking and writing. Not to forget, I also love to go on walks in nature, observe animals, learn about other cultures, research obscure facts, ....

If at all possible, please don't send me cards with photos of animals in clothing. I always feel so sorry for them. Drawings of animals in clothing are okay, though. Other than that, I'm open for anything and will love whatever you send me so long as it has a real message on it. No blank cards or single sentences, please. (Unless it's a one sentence story / flash fiction. I'd love to receive one of those!)

I'd love to hear about you and your country and its customs and festivals. Or maybe tell me about the last thing that made you smile? :-) Or answer me this: If you could have one superpower, which would you choose and why that one?

HANDMADE cards are very WELCOME!! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into creating them. Just please make them sturdy enough to survive the postal system. If you go through the trouble of making me something, of course I want to receive it intact, as it deserves.

For those of you who do want some guideline, I will list motives that I like. But don't stress over the list. You could also send me something that you like and tell me why you like it.

<3 Cards on my Favorites Wall are cards that I would like to have.
<3 Mysterious motives (That make you wonder what happened there or what will happen next)
<3 Things that glow or shine (Fireflies, paper lanterns, fireworks, lighted windows, street lanterns, stained glass, ...)
<3 Ruins, graveyards
<3 Rooftop views
<3 Kirin, komainu, susuwatari
<3 Libraries, books
<3 Crowded train stations and street crossings (especially old black and white images)
<3 National / local / traditional costumes (especially Asian or with fancy headdresses)
<3 Masks, totem poles
<3 Maps (especially old and unusual)
<3 Dragonflies
<3 Tunnels, caves, mines
<3 Pin-ups

I hope to hear from you soon!
