About Gaia...

Good day everyone. My name is Gaia, I live in Italy, Tuscany.

I studied for three years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and I am currently attending courses on foreign languages and literatures in the University of Pisa (it was founded in 1343!). I am studying German and French, so if you'd like to write in either of these languages instead of English, feel free! I might still need a dictionary, but I will hopefully manage to understand what you have written.

I am a writer and an artist. Literature and art are two great passions of mine, and the focus of my studies. History is also a subject that I love to read about, even though I am not a scholar. Tell me about something local and cool if you have no idea what to write.

POSTCARD PREFERECES:

I prefer TO receive: postcards with landscapes, peculiar photos, rural or characteristic places, monuments in cities. Anything artistic is fine - such as statues, paintings, cathedrals, mosques. I appreciate historical images, old photos, pictures of traditional dresses or fashion. Black&white is perfectly fine, as is vintage. I also like military-related or fairy-related postcards. If you enjoy making your own postcards, with your own photos or paper, do send them!

I prefer not to receive: postcards with cartoons, images of lovers (like Valentine day images) or babies, collages, pictures of hotels (unless historical), cute animals. No postcards that look way too touristic - we all know the type, those with the glitter and rainbows.

WHAT TO WRITE TO ME?

I would love to learn something about customs in your region, old habits, folk stories or curiosities. Tell me anecdotes about your life, tell me about the picture in your postcard. But simply writing about yourself is also perfectly fine.
If you don't know what to write, quote poems, books, movies, draw something. Suggest me a book to read! Or an author. Tell me what you love about your country, your town, your traditions. I will love it.

Date your postcards and write a lot on them!

Best wishes.
