My name is Ute.
I live in a university town in the southwest of Germany, near Stuttgart. I like travelling, reading (especially English and American novels, the Arabian Night fairy tales, thrillers and sometimes love stories) , walking (coastal walking in Britain or climbing the mountains in Snowdonia), baking, the cinema, the theatre, watching my favourite series (TBBT), going out with friends or my husband,dancing, visiting art exhibitions, hanging out with my kids, swimming, especially in lakes or the sea and so on...;)

I used to work as a grammar school teacher in a small town in the middle of nowhere and I’ve recently retired. I am mother of 2 'boys' and a 'girl',all of them grown-up and 'gone with the wind';) - at the moment in different parts of Germany...

I particularly like Great Britain, Ireland and Greece, but also Scandinavian countries, Iceland... actually I'm interested in all countries!!!

I prefer cards showing:
- landscapes (the sea- mountains - lakes - hills)
- your hometown
- typical sights in your country
- castles and lovely houses
- city views
- romantic film scenes
- doors and windows
- black and white photos
- modern art (Niki de Saint Phalle/ Pop art and so on)
- lighthouses
- Royals (from all European monarchies)
- if you are from the USA please send me postcards with scenery and the state name
- people reading
--books and libraries
- actors and actresses

Please write about yourself, the place and country you live in, your job, your hobbies, your family, a well-kept secret, your hopes and dreams, what you had for lunch, what you will do in the evening, what has been the best/worst thing in your life so far....
As you can see I am a very nosy person...:) - or put in another way: interested in other people;)

But I'm always a bit disappointed if you only write 'happy postcrossing' - for me, your message is just as interesting as the postcard:)

But I'm not really fussy and I'll like any postcard you send to me...:)
So surprise me!!!
