Hi!

I am Julia, living in a suburb near Rotterdam, big world harbor city where I was born as the daughter of a shipman.
As a little girl I was already obsessed by the magic postcards, collecting them as my personal jewels.
Or playing with the old boxes filled with all kind of postcards of my grandparents, asking my grand mom who sent them? Ohh.. that were so happy hours! for both, because my grand mom loved to tell again and again!

Touching these cards, read the words over and over… smell them, admire the post stamps, all these impressions of life, just coming to you, and that were them for all… that's like art, impressions, inspiration, etc.!

Sending postcards.. is sending dreams…. and a bit of magic…

I am still here, the small ship girl, getting really excited by receiving real postcards!
Ok… grown up now, married with a dancer, going through other adventures, many jobs, being the mother of two wonderful children (26 and 23), midlife crises, meeting the wall, surviving again, just daily life, but still sooo happy to find a postcard in my mailbox!

Internet is making contacts easier, but for me not replacing real post.

I am that kind of person, who is caressing every card!
Picking them for some months on my wall, later saving it in special boxes to enjoy for later too.
Maybe I will later spend many hours with my grandchildren, telling stories and dreams by the postcards sent to me.
All cards are little treasures for me and I love the stories behind.

My hobbies are writing, photography, nature, reading, accordeon, especially Klezmer music, world dancing, cooking, knitting and crochet, watching films and travel programms,.
I am also very interested in mental health issues, psychology, architecture,

I love to make trips with my husband by car, biking or walking, discovering the next area or city where we are ended.
My favorite holiday is spending time on the wonderful waddenshalloe Texel.
Or… the last … the Veluwe… a beautiful wood area in the middle of the Netherlands.
