About Irene...

Hi! My name is Irene, I'm a jeweller, also a mother of a little girl and an owner of an adopted cat. I learnt maths and physics, devoted many years of my life to the sport and arts. I like all kinds of animals and pets, cactuses, coffee, history, reading, painting classic and modern, tribal things, old ships, new people and making things with my hands and astronomy. Recently I got into aquariums, so cards about that theme are welcome too.

I love paper mail, it reminds me of the time when you had to wait for weeks for a letter from your friend far away. Since everyone uses the internet now, people became more like letters without faces, but real mail is not like that. Someone picked the card for you, filled it with own hands, breathed while writing, it keeps a special warm touch.
Postcards is a way of travelling and learning for me. I'm going to draw a large world map on the wall for my daughter and pin cards from different countries accordingly, so we could play and learn about countries and people there and plan our big travel trip I hope to go on someday.

Send me ANY KINDS OF POSTCARDS and write something about you please, your favourite aphorism or quote. I'd like to know about interesting or unusual customs and celebrated events in your culture, country and the place you live particularly too, maybe there's an interesting monument in your city. Write anything about yourself if you feel so. Please, no advertising cards unless there's something funny or clever.

Please put the date on your card :)
If a holiday is coming (not only international but your national too) a themed card would be appreciated!

I would especially be happy with cards that have:
- Iron gates or fences;
- Fogs (actually any beautiful landscape or city view will bring me joy);
- Coffee, tea or cheese;
- Animals (actually any wildlife and sea life, even insects. But especially horses, DOGS, wolves, CATS big and small, bears, owls);
- Weird, unusual cards, funny, naughty;
- Motorcycles, air crafts and trams;
- Retro or vintage cards;
- Fairy creatures (like unicorns and dragons and people with wings);
- Fairytale scene or imaginary landscape;
- Ancient warriors;
- Paintings, mainly French school (Antoine Watteau, Hubert Robert, Camille Corot, Francesco Guardi, André Derain).

Stickers? Yes, please! Envelope? Feel free to =) Several words in your native language? I'd love to read them!
Русскоговорящие, пишите как вам удобнее :)
A great special thanks to everyone who scans their cards in advance!

P.S. I'm not particularly into direct swaps now, but there is always a place for exclusions, send me a personal message if you are interested.

PM me the number of an expired card so I could register it and you would receive a card too. It's not your fault that mail gets lost sometimes.
