About Sari...

Hello postcrossers! My name is Sari and I live in Southern Finland in the city of Tampere. It is the 3rd largest city of Finland in number of inhabitants (220 000). The city is between two lakes and in the middle runs a rapids.

Tampere was established by the king of Sweden in 1779. Finland’s first paper mill started operation in Tampere in 1783, and James Finlayson started a cotton factory in 1820. The first electric light in the Nordic countries was also lit in Finlayson’s modern production facilities in 1882. Even today there is a paper mill right in the heart of the city. The cotton mill has been turned into offices, cinema and restaurants. In recent opinion polls Tampere was selected as "The most attractive place to live in Finland".

I live in a suburb in a light green wooden house with my husband, teenaged daughter and a boxer dog called Olga. We have a tiny little garden, where nothing ever grows. I don't have any special hobbies except housework and needlework. Occassionally I go to theatre or cinema.

Earlier I've been developing business processes in telecom and paper industry. Currently I work as a logistics assistant in a high-tech company. I've had a chance to travel around the world on business and I have visited some 40 countries on 4 continents. It's interesting to get to know other countries and cultures.

I found postcrossing in October 2013. I love the idea of sending old-fashioned postcards to strangers, telling each other a couple of words about our lives and our countries.

You can send me any type of postcards. Tourist cards, views from your home town/country, historical places or local art are interesting. Please write something about you or what you have been doing recently. Thanks!

You can write me in English, Swedish, German or Russian. I will reply to you in English, because I don't have cyrillic keyboard and it feels awfully difficult to write in other languages after a long break.
