I'm new to this thing, please forgive my not having any idea what to write here! :)

So, hi! I'm Mel, 31, an American expat, married to a Dutch fella. I'm a huge bookworm (as attested to by my overflowing shelves and stacks of books around my living room!) and read almost any & everything, a hobbyist photographer, love traveling and taking in new sights and cultures, especially the food! :D A ton of my photography is of places we've traveled. I love to cook and bake, and I'm a vegetarian. I'm a huge geek/nerd, love Star Trek TOS/TNG, run Linux on both my computers, love xkcd... I also love nearly any crime/forensic show and watch most of them, and am a huge movie buff, especially horror (and all other things horror as well). Adore animals, though my apartment doesn't allow pets so I've been with no furballs for 4 years! :( Um, I think that's the basics? Oh, and I'm obsessed with ladybugs and monkeys/apes! :D

I collect postcards from the cities I visit, so I think it'll be lots of fun to get the from people around the globe, with actual writing! :)

What I like of cards:
- written & stamped please :)
- would love it if you write me something about your city/country itself, about living there, and/or about yourself :D
- would also love it if you dated your card! :)

Stuff I like to see on cards:
- things pertaining to your area (touristic view is fine, but more unique—history or mythology, local art, old view of train station or city, etc—is super fun!)
- recipes, something your area is known for, or just yummy stuff!
- monkeys & apes (gorillas especially, but all are loved! not posed jokey ones please)
- see-hear-speak no evil (especially monkeys but not limited to!)
- ladybugs & snails
- classic movies (especially horror/sci-fi, but not limited to!)
- animals (beautiful/cute shots, not goofy/dressed up etc please; big cats, wolves, snakes, squirrels (and other cute rodents), & baby critters are favorites)
- books, book shelves, bookshops
- or handmade is fun, too

The above are things I love, so you will make my day with cards of any of those, but I eagerly await to see *whatever* you send me! :D
