Wenn Sie Deutsch können, würde ich es sehr begrüßen, wenn ich eine Postkarte auf Deutsch lesen könnte :) Ich versuche schon seit langem, diese Sprache zu lernen, aber meine Versuche waren vergeblich - jetzt versuche ich es noch einmal!

If you know German, I'd really appreciate it if I could read a postcard in German :) I've been trying to learn this language for a long time but my attempts have been futile - I'm giving it another go now!

Hello!

I'm Piotr, a 23-year-old English teacher in a Polish high school. Apart from this, I also study American literature and culture at the university and I'm going to graduate next year :)

These two things pretty much sum up my interests nowadays, as I really enjoy teaching teenagers and having day-to-day contact with them. I believe in the power of education and treating students as equals (thus I think education in general needs a lot of changes). Literature has been my interest for quite a long time, so my university career is just a way to act on it and improve my skills.

So, if you're looking for a topic to write about, I'd love to read stories about education in your country, as well as book recommendations :) I'm also interested in social studies, history, and cultural studies, so I'm sure anything related to humanities you want to share will be excellent!

I am not picky when it comes to postcard types, as I believe each postcard represents something and is valuable - so choose something that speaks to you and share it with me, I'll be delighted to discover it :) I'd be really grateful, though, if you chose something in a typically rectangular shape (no round or long postcards): for technical reasons, I store postcards in neat boxes.

Random facts about me (they might spark your interest and open up a discussion):
-I'm currently trying to convince my girlfriend that a postcard exhibition on the wall is a splendid idea; she loves ducks - so, a nice postcard showing ducks will probably help me achieve this goal :))
- I LOVE CATS, I have one of my own (name: Kordian) - a postcard with a cat would be much appreciated; if you have your own cat, tell me about it!
- I also love maps - any kind of them, political, physical, doesn't matter
- I enjoy typical tourist cards, especially from your region :)
- vegetarian since 2017
- prefers minimalist over maximalist style in all kinds of art
- rates prose over poetry and drama
- favorite authors: Charles Bukowski (but not for mainstream reasons, I'm not an alt-right red-piller), Joan Didion, Raymond Carver, Ernest Hemingway, Miranda July
- all-time favorite book: "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion
- interested in liminal spaces, previously inhabited but nowadays secluded (North Pole, outpost settlements in Far North, Svalbard-Pyramiden, small village settlements that are no longer in use)
- a big supporter of academic knowledge and proving beliefs by facts and research
