My name is Vladimir, and I'm 34 years old.
I live in Saint-Petersburg. I'm former Army airborne troops officer (after more then 13 years of active service), but now I work as tourist guide.

My hobbies are: reading historical nonfiction books, guiding tours and collecting coins. But most of all I like to travel.
I'm very interesting in traveling in different countries. My wife and I try to travel around the World every vacations, holidays and long weekends.
But more often I travel around Russia. Our country is very big, it has saturated history, beautiful nature and many interesting sights. Russia is a multinational and multireligious country, there are more than 200 different Nations living here together peacefully, because they have one and the same country. But all of them are different and original. That's why while travelling I like to know about traditional culture, history, peculiar architectures, nation cuisine & etc. of different regions...
I've already visited neighboring European countries and some dozens different regions in Russia (from Arctic in the north to Caucasus in the south; from Baltic coast in the west to Siberia in the east) and I hope it's only beginning.

As for me, Postcrossing is the great chance to see another countries and regions by means of postcards views :)

That's why I would be happy to receive a common single view (often called "touristic") postcard :
- UNESCO world heritage sites (cultural and nature);
- interesting sights, beautiful places and buildings or outstanding architectural monuments (especially churches, cathedrals, temples, mosques, monasteries, abbeys, town halls, castles, fortress, towers, forts, lighthouses, mills and etc.) from your city or country;
- National Parks, beautiful landscapes of your region or country;
- views of cities decorated for Christmas: illuminations, Christmas market, etc. (the most preferable - night views);

I would NOT LIKE to receive multi-view cards or cards with paintings/art, people, animals, flowers and etc.
I prefer new, colourful single view cards written and stamped (without envelope).

I always try to select the best possible card to send to others, so I kind of expect to receive cards with the same respect.
