Paperbat

Hello Postcrossers,
my real name is Karl, but I chose 'Paperbat' as nickname, because I really like paper and similar products at least as media for presentation and – even more – for communication.

Before reading my profile, please keep in mind that EVERY postcard is highly appreciated. So there's no need to send me a postcard following the informations given in my profile.

My favorite hobby is to watch movies, but only in cinemas (not at home). I am interested in movies from all parts of the world which I watch in their original version (with german or english subtitles of course). In some way my focus here is on movies from spanish-speaking countries. Among other reasons coz my daughter-in-law comes from Mexico.

I live in Frankfurt/Main (shortly Ffm) what both stands for 'Frankfurt upon (river) Main'. The town is situated in Western Germany and has an important airport (FRA) nearby. Frankfurt is not as big (only 700K) , but its inhabitants sometimes call their city 'Mainhattan', composed from Manhattan and Main, because its skyline is quite beautiful and impressive, at least for a German town

I consider myself as quite open-minded. I am interested in Modern Music, Modern Art and Modern Dance. In terms of chronology this would mean approx. from 'Modern' as from the beginning of the 20th century as to their contemporary developments.
My favorite musicians actually are Nick Cave, Paolo Conte, Neil Young, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin and Dana Fuchs (most of them from 'olden' times). And I am always interested to get to know new music and musicians, especially from the areas of Jazz in its widest sense and of 'Weltmusik' (world music).
My favourite countries where I have already been or where I'd like to travel too are Spain, Portugal and all countries of Middle and Southern America.

Btw, I just told something about my interests. But this does NOT mean that I am only interested in postcards concerning these subjects. EVERY postcard is highly appreciated.
