Opa_Gotthard

Hi,

this is the granddaughter of Opa Gotthard writing.

I set up this account for him, so he can enjoy mail from all over the world. Opa Gotthard just turned 81 4th of May 2014 and I love him so so much. He has been the greatest granddad during all my life (I just turned 32 this year), giving everything he has to make me happy. Now it`s time for me to give back.

Opa Gotthard grew up in the former GDR (East Germany) which meant that he was never able to travel due to political reasons. When the wall came down he didn`t have enough money to go and see the world. So since his childhood he loves to collect stamps from all over the world. It`s his form of travelling.

I would like to give him joy during his old days with postcrossing. He loves every postcard. When he receives one, he first gets the magnifier to survey every inch of it. He then calls me to ask for translation. He doesn´t speak English. So when you know some German Words, write them on the card! In Gerneral: write big and clear, this makes it much easier for him.

Opa is happy to receive ANY card, but he REALLY loves SPORTS. In his youth he used to play ice-hockey, soccer, gymnastics and actually any sport that came to his mind. So if you send sport-related cards, he is in heaven.
