Odysseus

Hi,
my REAL name is Dirk, but I've choosen Odysseus as my Profile name because I like greek mythology and I'm feeling like travelling around in my life since a few years, still looking for a safe haven ;-)
I live and work in Rostock, very near to the Baltic Sea. It's a nice town, and especially in the summer time also a nice place to relax on the beach.
I'm an engineer and years ago I studied marine engineering but I never worked in this area. Instead of this I'm working with very small parts in the area of medical devices - a very demanding job, nevertheless from an ethical point of view.
My children are already in an age where they don't need my daily attention. So I have some spare time that I use to read a lot, to do some sports or - as just started some weeks ago - to write postcards for people all around the world :-)

If I have the choice I would prefer to get a postcard with a relation to the landscape or the town where you are living.

with regard to languages:
- I have a fairly good grasp of German (in fact I SHOULD have...)
- I'm also familiar with some English
- and deep buried in my brain there are some remains of Russian and Spanish language - worth to be discovered again...
