Hi!

My name is Marinella. I was named after my two grandmothers, Marie and Nell. A very clever solution from my parents to keep two new granny's pleased ;)
Later on I learned that my name is very common in Italy and Greece. In Holland, where I live, it is a name which is very uncommon. That is why I had a mug with the text "neighbor" on it, because there wasn't one with my name on it ;)

I am 44 years old, I work as an historian doing research, I am a wife and mum, which is the most challenging "job".
Our family is close, both my children study and still live at home.
They have an opinion about almost everything and like to discuss. And there isn't a day without lots of laughter and silly jokes.

In my spare time, I read a lot, I write short stories, I go out with friends for dinner or just for a drink. My passion is food. I love to cook and eat. I also have a passion for wine. We go to France as much as we can to visit regions like Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Alsace, Champagne and more, to taste wine and to buy wine. My wine rack (our house is too small for a cellar) is my pride and joy.

Write me about what you do, who you live with, about your hobby's and your life and what your favorite food is.
Or send me a recipe for a dish typical for your country, I would like to cook that and try it.
