About Daniel...

Attention! If you speak one of the languages I listed as the ones I speak besides English, do not hesitate to use it! It feels very awkward for me when I receive postcards from Russia/Belarus written in English.

Hello all!

My name is Daniel and while at present I live in Warsaw, Poland, I was born and lived for 18 years in Vilnius, Lithuania. Recently, I have finished my Master's studies and will probably leave PhD unfinished.

When I don't study, I work. When I don't study or work, I sleep. When I don't study, work, or sleep, I am either procrastinating, or meeting with my friends, or reading, or travelling by trains.

Speaking of trains... I l-o-v-e trains! The comfort and smoothness of travel, the little hurry, random acquaintances in a railroad car... In fact, I have challenged myself to visit all the train stations in Lithuania (which I still visit about once a month). So far about 15% is done, and you are welcome to see some photos and descriptions on my webpage :) Obviously, you are also welcome to send me railroad-themed postcards!

Another hobby is playing intellectual games with my friends. I am in a team together with people from different countries, one of which is a fellow postcrosser; in fact, it is she who brought me here.

I also used to do urban exploration, but the older I am, the more afraid of reprecussions I get :)

What postcards will make me the happiest? Well, trains, minimalism, drawings, pet animals, nature sights, urban sights, vintage, postcards inspired by posters (especially your country vintage tourism promotion posters), just about anything aesthetical; these are the keywords that come into my head. I also believe your country has some wonderful sights you'd like to share! If by any chance your country produces or produced cards with propaganda or spreading cult of someone's personality, I would like to receive them! (I know, that's odd, but I really like it) Or maybe do you have some celebration or holiday in your country/region at the moment? I would love to receive a postcard related to it with a short story, why it is important to you. By the way, I like hearing stories about something important to those, who tell them :) And please, if your native language is one of those I listed as the languages I speak, do not hesitate to use it!

Anyway, I would be glad to receive any postcard!

Yours,
Daniel
