About Marieke...
Hi fellow postcrossers,
When I stumbled upon this website, I wondered why I hadn't found it sooner. It seemed perfect for me! Sometimes I think I'm the last person on earth who sends actual postcards, but now I can see that I'm not :-)
What I love about postcards is seeing just a little bit of places I might never visit. I like photography and travelling and manage to do both a lot, but the world is a big place, right? Seeing those pretty photos of another country/town/landscape really triggers my imagination. I'd be happy to receive any card you want to send me, but if you're not sure what to send, here's what I love the most:
- cities, buildings, architecture
- landscapes, mountains, countryside, desert, forest
- old black & white photography
- artcards from a local or national artist from where you live
And last but not least, some special requests:
- postcards from vintage travel posters: if you send me one of those, you'll definately make my day!
- I love the Russian atist Nicholas Roerich, so cards from his work are more than welcome.
- cards from National Parks from the US or Canada are also big favorites.
Not a huge fan of cartoon or jokey cards.
It would be great if you could write something on it. Tell me what you like about your card. For instance, if it's a card from your city, tell me why you like living there. English is always good, German and French I'll manage, and Italian and Spanish I can try and figure out.
As we say in Dutch,
groetjes!
Marieke
