About Gerda...

Hello postcrossers,

My name is Gerda, I’m married and live in Vienna, the capital of Austria, a small country in the middle of Europe.
I really enjoy the idea of Postcrossing. It’s a wonderful opportunity to communicate with people living in other countries. I like nice postcards with messages and stamps.

I welcome all postcards I receive. Below are some of the themes I am interested in:

- landscape (mountains, rivers, lakes, forests, the sea, desserts....) where you live
- city/ village in your country
- famous buildings, castles or castle ruins in your country
- UNESCO World Heritage Sites in your country (if you are interested in UNESCO WHS - have a look at the List of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites http://whc.unesco.org/en/list)
- national parks and gardens
- natural phenomenons like aurora borealis, volcanos, geysers, hot springs, flash of lightning
- wildlife in your country
- planets and other luminaries, galaxies
- paintings and art pieces (especially Impressionism, Art Nouveau)
- cultures, indigenous people
- human rights, fair trade

Cards in my favourites wall are cards I haven’t received!

I like and collect stamps, as they are small pieces of art.

What I don’t like are military, violence, free and ad cards or touchnotes.

I think Postcrossing can be a special project for making peace! I don’t want to discuss about war or war heroes and I’m not interested in war memorials and weapons. I’m interested in peacemakers and human right defenders!

I’m looking forward to getting you to know via snail mail! Thanks so much!

Best wishes and have a nice day!
