About Museum...

Hi fellow postcrossers!

We are the team working for the Museum for Communication at Frankfurt, Germany. We used to be a postal museum: Our museum has its roots in the decision during the Second World War to evacuate and put into safe storage the collection of the Imperial Postal Museum (Reichspostmuseum) in Berlin. These holdings provided the basis for the Frankfurt museum opened in 1958 as the West German Federal Postal Museum (Bundespostmuseum).

Today, we try to show the whole scope of history of communication. From drums to Google glass, if people have used it to communicate, we probably have it or would really like to have it in our collections. We are one of three Museums for Communication in Germany which all belong together. All three of us registered for Postcrossing to celebrate the World Post Day. Obviously, we've got a thing for mail and we are so looking forward to receive cards from all around the world!

If you wish, we'd love to learn your stories around communication. What inspired you? What have you always wanted to try? Or is there maybe one story that you will always remember - the one mail or phone call or text message that changed your life? We'd love to read it! Be warned that we might share your story with our audiences. ;-)

We're looking forward to reading you!

Best,
the team
