Dear Postcrosser !

My name is Olena, I live in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine and famous city for its ancient hystory.

Since my childhood I adore cross-stitching and especially national Ukrainian embroidery. Recently I've started to cross-stitch my first national shirt, we call such shirt - "vyshyvanka". To own hand-made emroidered (cross-stitched) shirts is an ancient Ukrainian tradition as such shirts are considered to be your life-guardians and some-kind of mascots.

I'm very interested in culture, traditions and needlework of other countries, so, I would be very happy and grateful to receive a card about:

* folk costumes / national dress of your country / region;

* national crafts of your country (needlework, beadwork, embroidery, ornaments, decor, traditional clothes, headwear, footwear, ceramics, dishes, etc.);
