About Marta...

Hello, my name is Marta and I live in a small village close to Lisbon. I am 44, married and have two kids, Ana Clara and Artur. I have a teacher degree, and also worked at a herb shop and in an office, and I just started a degree in History, which is something I have always wanted do do. My dream job would be at a book shop or library, though sometimes I think being an hermit in a forest would also be nice. =D
My main interests are: Reading, writing, cooking, cooking for friends and with friends, walking around, travel (not much abroad as I would like, but a lot here in Portugal), History, mythology (celtic, nordic, greek, mainly), paganism, gardening.
Favourite authors: Juliet Marillier, Joanne Harris, Agatha Christie, Sarah Addison Allen, Isabel Allende, Laura Esquível, Jane Austen, Bronte sisters. Books, also Harry Potter, Mists of Avalon...
Favourite films: Chocolate, Amelie, Indiana Jones (I was a kid in the 80's...), the Crow.
Music: it goes from Pearl Jam to Within Temptation, to Debussy, to Tom Jobim, to Florence and the Machine, to Moonspell.
And, as you can guess, I also write too much... =P
Would love any postcards, but here are some ideas:
Cats. Kittens, wild cats, fluffy cats, nom cats, everything cat. (actually I collect mugs with cats, we have here a shop called Loja do Gato Preto, Black Cat Shop, and I'm afraid I have too many mugs for my own good... )
Also lynx, wolves, ravens, tigers.
Landscapes of your country or city, traditional houses, events, particularities of your country or culture. For instance, we eat snails, cooked, of course, but our gastronomy is quite alright, and we have lots of fresh fish.
Gardens, forests, trees, northern lights and cow fields, if you write from Ireland =D
Everything witchy and pagan and tree loving and kitchen magic, be creative!
Christmas (don't mind religious, bring on those cute baby Jesus!)

(I tried to keep a notebook for the postcards, but I end up using them as beautiful bookmarks...)

Happy Postcrossing!
