About Taija...

I'm a 33-year-old woman. I have always loved reading, and I'm an avid BookCrosser (it's like Postcrossing, but with books instead of postcards, and also with some other little differences). Reading makes me feel like home, wherever I am. My mother actually laughed at me, when abroad during a trip we had only one key per hotel room (means some extra planning), and I said that I'll definitely be OK anyway, because I have a book and a bottle of water in my bag. :)

I don't finish all the books I start if I don't like them. However, even if I didn't like some book myself, it has probably given some joy or new insights to some other person, and deserves its due respect as a story constructed by some writer with the power of her or his imagination. I also try to write my own stories and poems, sometimes with a sense of an achievement, however small one, and sometimes not. ;)

I love travelling and seeing new places, and also making new trips to already familiar places. There are still many, many places I have never seen!

Even if I enjoy modern conveniences as much as the next person (for example, shower really rocks), I also love some oldfashioned things, for example wax seals. A seal makes letters look very stylish.

I also like animals, especially penguins, pandas and koalas. :) It's great to get to share this planet with so many interesting furry, feathery and scaly creatures.

I'm also very fond of snowmen (not jetis, but those made of snow. I hope I didn't offend any jetis among you, I'm sure you are very cool, too;). I'm sure they dance happily at night, when nobody can't see...

I'll be happy for every and any postcard. So, please, feel free to send any kind of postcards you like yourself! :) If you still have difficulties in deciding, here are some hopefully helpful hints for the subjects of the postcards:

-books
-people reading
-a writer you like
-views of the place you live in
-beautiful buildings (especially if they are castles or libraries, or, even better, both at the same time!)
-animals
-angels
-fairies
-other mythical creatures
-illustrations from fairytales
-pictures of famous writers
-nature (flowers, sea, gardens, forests...)
-snowmen (again, those made of snow, not jetis. Well, why not, jetis may be nice too;)
-paintings by some artists
-teddy bears
-historical persons and/or historical places
-moon and/or the stars
-your favourite places in the world
-old advertisements (I think there's something very charming and innocent in some old ads for food, travels or any other products. Perhaps those who will come after us will think the same way about the ads of our time)
-witty slogans and/or quotes from novel
