About Alexander...

Dear fellow friend of old fashioned communication,

How much more personal is a postcard than an email or a short message!
I am a German engineer and returned to my home town Hamburg last summer after having lived (and worked) in Japan for almost five years.
I am interested in languages, especially alphabets or any other writing systems. Only by looking at postcrossing cards I realized how fascinating old fashioned typewriters can be.
But not only words, also maps or nautical charts and the history of geodesy and navigation are fascinating. So coming back a little to the technical side: Compasses, sextants and sundials would also belong in this category. Anything floating, from sailing boat to ocean liner never fails to attract my attention. Maybe even more in black and white.
Talking about attention... Women as a motif, of course, are also welcome.

My favourites show both - cards that I received myself as well as cards of others that I like. Just to show you what makes me smile.

I will be happy about any postcard (if handwritten), but in case you still do not know what to send, try to find something really strange, queer, unexpected.

Don't know what to write?
Tell me a secret. Or your last nightmare. What turns you on? What would you do, if it had no consequences?

I am looking forward to your card.

Thanks a lot!
Alexander

P.S.: I received one of these internet cards and I must say, I do prefer handwritten cards from the country of origin with real stamps without envelope.
