About Lena...

Hello!
My friend convinced me to try out post-crossing, and so here I am.
I am a student of English philology living in Poland, Warszawa. I speak English fluently, understand German decently and started learning Czech. I can also understand Norwegian and Finnish well enough to receive postcards in those languages, so if you wish to write in either, go ahead! I am also curious of other languages and cultures and so would love if you could include a word of your native language, or two, and explain them (if applies). Unfortunately I can't read any other alphabets than the Latin one (or Tengwar) - just saying ;).

Postcard types that I enjoy the most:
* I love originality; surprise me, I'll be happy
* any fantasy (a J.R.R. Tolkien card would make me insanely happy and place me in your debt for a lifetime ;>), sci-fi or noir related
* retro, black&white, etc
* art nouveau; Mucha especially
* shots of your city/town/country always appreciated! single shots definitely preferred to collages, unless the collage in question is somehow unusual
* wild nature, especially the sea
* falcons & eagles; I'm also big on owls, hedgehogs and castles

Postcard types that I definitely do NOT enjoy:
* "sweet/cute" cards, especially with domestic animals, *especially* dogs
* not a big fan of daily life, either
* children

If it's close to some holiday when you are sending a card, I don't mind a "best wishes" one.

I enjoy reading your words even more than I enjoy the actual cards, so please, write! And then write some more.

ABOUT UPLOADING CARDS:
I noticed some people don't upload the cards they receive and so I started uploading the images of all those I get to send myself. However, if it is you who are sending me a card and you can make a scan, please do. I don't have a scanner, only a photo-camera, and there's only so much you can with those; the quality of my uploads will always be lacking.
