About Šarūnas...

Hello people! I live in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania - a beautiful country with lots of nature and natural landscapes. Currently, I am studying Ancient world through Classical Philology. I am interested in a variety of things, but what inspires me the most is culture - something that is related to and defines the particular cultural identity. Philosophy, music, photography and people: these are the things I am deeply interested in, both on a scholarly and personal basis. I am out of this world when I listen to classical music. And I like to think about something out of this world as well. I am interested in almost everything - every subject and every way of life, every epoch has something to offer and the flow of ideas that reach us is something that continuously redefines people. All these big words aside, I really can't stop appreciating the connection and the importance of different people. I am also fascinated by the beauty of simple things and by nature (and I really like ships (though sheep as well (hehe, my philological mind wanders and wonders)). What else to say... I like Robin Williams, Tom Hanks and Don Quixote - I believe these guys have much in common. Thanks for reading me (you know, I am just a text now) and see you somewhere in the postal world.

Regarding the postcards I like: I do not have any specific requirements, but I prefer something that stimulates the mind. The postcards that have something to say - whether it's about an object, a place, or something else; about you, about your country, or about both of you. Sometimes I like cards of large format, sometimes something a bit nostalgic. The most important thing is to not forget that a genre of a postcard consists of two parts: not only a picture, but a written text as well. I really treasure my postcards, where the sender spent some time to think about what he/she could say, and I feel that he really wanted to say that.

The cards that I am not very keen of probably are touristic and ad-cards, though sometimes even there can be something interesting. I just believe in my sender and his/her choice, and I appreciate what you want to send me much more than expecting something in advance.
