About Kamiyama...

Hello!!

We are a class of 3rd Grade, Japanese, Junior High School students. We study English at school everyday. We want to exchange postcards with you! We are interested in receiving any postcards (especially local sites, events, festivals, etc.) and learning about the place where you live. Please only send postcards appropriate for Junior High School students :)

We hope that we can enjoy learning English even more through exchanging postcards. After you receive and register your card, if you would like to send a message to the students, we would enjoy reading it in class. The students would be very happy to hear what you thought about the card!

If you are sending a card to us, please, please, write using simple English, short sentences, and clear writing. We will try very hard to read and understand what you write!!

We live in a small town called Kamiyama on Shikoku island. In English Kamiyama means "God's mountain." Kamiyama is a very beautiful town with lots of nature. There are mountains all around Kamiyama as well as a beautiful river that runs through it. Sudachi is a famous citrus fruit grown here. It is similar to a small lime. Kamiyama also has its own onsen (spa) that people from all around Shikoku enjoy very much.

Many people visit Kamiyama every year, because many festivals are held here. In the spring there is the cherry blossom festival and in the summer there are the Tanabata star festival and summer fair. Going to festivals makes us happy. We like Kamiyama very much.

After school we enjoy school clubs including table tennis, baseball and volleyball.

In-Kamiyama is a website about our town and it is half written in English if you would like to learn more:

The people of Kamiyama have very warm hearts. So if we exchange postcards we are confident that we can warm your heart too.

Thank you!!
