Hi my fellow Postcrosser,

Nice to meet you!

I'm Jorein, a political philosophy student from a small village in the Netherlands with more hobbies than there are hours in a day!

One of my biggest passions in life is writing, whether it's a letter, a poem or a (short)story. I've written two manuscripts in my life -- one about the freemasonry in the 19th century and a murder mystery -- of which one got published. My grandma bought it and that made me very happy. Currently I'm working on a new story and I simply love to get lost in this imaginary world of mine.
Christie is my middle name (no joke), but apart from Agatha my favourite writers are Kazuo Ishiguro for his character development and Carlos Ruiz Zafon for his tension-building.

Apart from writing and reading, I have an unexplicable love for French chansons by Jacques Brel and folk music such as sung by Loreena McKennit, Wardruna or Leonard Cohen.
I play the piano, I love singing spontaneously (not in public, unless I'm prepared), I recently started my 12th year of acting and I practice yoga and meditation. As you can see, I didn't lie when I said I have quite a lot of hobbies.

One of my dreams is to work for a human rights organisation or an organisation that contributes to environmental development. Or I want to become a writer. Or I'll just write about human rights, that's a possibility as well :)

I started postcrossing because I think there's nothing more unique than a handwritten card and I'd love to get more in touch with this world we live in. I keep all the cards I receive and I can admire them whenever I want, because they're on my wall (literally!).
