There is something special about postcards. Especially in our culture where so much of our communication takes place online. Handwritten communication evokes a simpler time, a slower pace, and a sense of closeness that I really enjoy.

P.s. I live in China and I always wanted my mom to register on Postcrossing but she hasn't done yet, maybe she's afraid her English is not good enough or maybe I didn't explain myself very well. So I ask whoever gets to send me a postcard next to address it to her and tell her about this amazing idea and community. I'm sure once she gets one she'll be hooked and open her own account. Her name is Ana Cristina. She's a lovely lady who grew up in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal. Amazing mother and grandmother. Loves cooking, yoga and history. Thank you.
