About Jen-Ingrid...
Hello, I am Jen-Ingrid and I love to receive mail. ☺️ I also love writing post cards so Postcrossing is a natural fit for me.
I split my time between my home on the vast open prairies and in a beautiful valley in the Rocky Mountains of Canada. I am bless to have many wild places to explore. I have a Yellow Labrador Retriever named Lincoln and a Border Collie named Witch-Hazel who enjoy accompanying me on my daily adventures.
I am a working artist and my hobbies are knitting, learning languages, yoga, teaching English as a Second Language and walking as far as I can each day.
I love plants, herbal remedies, languages, folklore, and traditional stories.
I also am very interested in traditional arts such as basket weaving, sewing traditional clothing and beading.
I am of mixed European and Indigenous ancestry. I belong to a group of people known as the Métis. (May-TEE). We are also known as the flower-beadwork people. I love traditional beading patterns. 🙂
So if you would like to tell me about local myths, folklore, fairytales, creatures or characters from traditional tales, music, and/or stories . . . I would be most interested in hearing about this part of your culture or anything else you care to share.
I love post cards featuring fairytales because I think fairytales are a window into the psyche of a culture and human nature.
Thanks for writing,
Sincerely,
J. Ingrid
