Very nice to receive cards where a lot of words. Please write, write anything: what you have now the weather where you were at the weekend, how's your cat, write what you like, what dream, what books you rocked and what movies are must-see. Any little thing that seems important to you.
Maybe you write a recipe of your favorite pie? I'm sure it'll make!
