Hello! My name is Varvara, or Varya for friends. I'm a linguist and I work in IT. I live in a town Podolsk near Moscow. It's famous for making sewing machines since 1902.
I have two dogs and a very ill-tempered cat.
I love travelling, I want to see as much of our planet as possible. It 's amazing how many different cultures, different people there are in the world.
I also like reading, especially sci-fi & fantasy, but I like different books! I always have a book with me. I also enjoy good books for children and young adults(Moomins, Cornelia Funke, Diana Wynne Jones, Derek Landy and others).
I like comics, especially web-comics.
My favourite tv-shows are Doctor Who and Firefly.
My other hobbies are music, especially folk & rock, drawing (i'm really bad at it, but I'm learning), cinema, theatre, boarding games, english langauge, art, history and architecture.

I'll be happy to receive any kind of postcard! Every and each one is unique and precious to me. But if you want some suggestions, here they are:

Write me something about yourself and your daily life - even if you think it's dull routine, it's interesting for me! Or write me about a place you live in, i'm sure there is always some remarkable fact or a fascinating story. Or may be your own recollection. Feel free to write anything you like!
I'm trying to learn German now, so if you are a native German speaker it would be great if you wrote a sentence or two in German =)
