Hello! Welcome to my profile... I am a teacher of Economics at Rivers International School in Arnhem, the Netherlands. We teach the International Baccalaureate. Our students come from all over the world. They bring their own culture, school background, music etc. etc.
I live in Arnhem, pop.150,000 or so, in a beautiful area. You may have heard about my town because of the Battle of Arnhem, September 1944. In our school we run an annual project about this Battle to create awareness among our international students. WWII seems long time ago, but issues of war and peace are of all times. Thousands of young men died in a battle of which they only knew that it's about good against bad, for whichever side they fought... so we need to educate the younger generations about what freedom and making choices is about.
I am married and we have a daughter of 26. I love to hike, mainly long-distance trails, in the mountains. Some years ago I hiked with my friends all the way from the south of NL to the Mediterranean (not in one go, but in several stages). Last year we hiked in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain.
