About HansH...

Hi,

My name is Hans and I am 74 years. I am from the Netherlands, but moved for a couple of months to California, USA. Now I'm back in Amsterdam. I make postcards from my own photos, and call these MailArtcards. I print these in very small numbers just for personal use, to send to my friends and now my Postcrossing friends. Since I started making MailArtcards in 2006 I made probably a thousand different designs. But now I'm slowing down a bit to about 100 new cards a year. I try to make more beautiful cards.

The next Postcrossers will get a special Dutch Postcrossing stamp on his or her card or envelope, as long as my stock will last. The Dutch Postal Service issued these stamps mid October 2011. See

I like writing fiction (and letters), photography, art, traveling, reading and getting to know new people.

As for the cards that I prefer, first of all I enjoy the contact with the card writer. Tell me something about yourself. That's what I'm looking forward to.

Then I have a slight preference for cards with newspapers, books, people reading. This in a broad sense. Next I like cards of trams, trains, buses, public transport. I also love cards with good photography, both color and B&W. Look at my postcard wall under 'sent' and you see the photo's I make. They are not all mine, but when my name is with the card it is my photo. I'm sure you can find me better photo's and I would be happy. I also like funny cards.

You can write me in any of the above mentioned languages. I'm always a little surprised to get a card from Germany that is written in English.

I'm not too keen on the regular tourist cards, but send me what you want to send me. As said, I love the contact.

I'll be glad with cards in an envelope. First, you can write me more about you and second I can clip the stamps from the envelope.
