About Guido...
I was - until 8 years ago - a librarian in a public library. I'm now retired.
I live with my wife (also an ex-librarian!) and my cat Tiblu, a pure-bred male British Blue of 16 years old and almost…10 kilo...
"...That's NOT true! You are exaggerating!!" [that's Tiblu!]
(... sorry for the interruption...)
I admire the Dutch author Godfried Bomans (1913-1971). He is not very famous and is not taken seriously by the literary establishment.
He is a bit like a 20th century Hans Christian Andersen from Holland. But he isn't only a narrator of fairy tales. He was also a good journalist with a philosophical approach and last but not least plenty of humor.
And above all he writes a magnificent Dutch.
As a librarian of a public library, I was supposed to be interested in àll existing knowledge (of course not in depth); over the years I took a particular interest in religion, philosophy, literature, art and culture. Waw! That sounds very serious ...
On the other hand I love for example... circus very much. Both Cirque du Soleil (less lately, because too noisy, the (pop)music is way too loud) as the smaller family circuses which are - at least in Belgium - threatened in their existence.
When I'm enjoying a circus performance, I feel like a boy of 10 years. [Yes, that's me on the picture!]
Shouldn't we all cherish the child in us, and never forget that little boy or girl we used to be?
My second (?) love is... the musical. I think with recently the films "La La Land", "The Beauty and the Beast" and "The greatest showman" : "This is the beginning of a beautiful revival (of the musical)?"
I love stamps from all countries. Sometimes they are little masterpieces of miniature art. A challenge : I try to match not only the postcards, but also the stamps to the profile of my recipient. (Usually I put 2 or 3 stamps).
To end : regular tourist cards are fine.
Many greetings and thanks for writing me.
Have a nice day.
Guido
