About Almut...

Postcrossing has become a family hobby for me and my mom (who was here first and got me interested, too). Since I rarely get the chance to travel, postcrossing is my way of travelling both the world and my own country. :)

Apart from writing postcards, I also love reading, writing, fanfiction, hiking, photography (mostly nature and old buildings), and watching movies and my favourite tv shows. My username ist the name of my favourite bird (yellowhammer in english).

Ideas for postcards I would love to receive:

-- beautiful views of your town/city/country (landscapes, castles, city views, animals/flowers typical for your country, national parks, UNESCO sites, map-cards…)

-- the sea, beaches, shells, lighthouses, sailing ships, windjammer, marinas, harbours

-- beautiful, romantic gardens, houses, windows, doors (photo or painting/drawing)

-- cherry blossom, sakura, the seasons

-- mushrooms

-- aurora borealis, stars, galaxies, space photography, anything sky-related

-- sea slugs

-- snail houses, snails

-- whales and orcas

-- horses (especially any kind of wild horses, Camargue horses, Friesian horses, Knabstrupper, Andalusians, Arabs)

-- fantasy & science fiction (dragons, elves, dwarves, space art…)

-- anything related to Hayao Miyazaki’s anime movies

-- Petersson & Findus

-- art by Thomas Kinkade

Special postcards that would make me incredibly happy:

-- anything Tolkien-related (books & movies)

-- postcards from Hawaii

-- the Twelve Apostles in Victoria, Australia

-- Chinese/Japanese/Asian dragons

-- US national parks

Feel free to write on the card whatever you want to, be it long or short, about the card, about you... If you don't know what to write, just tell me about your current wheather. Climatic zones fascinate me. :)

I'm already looking forward to receiving your card! It would be great if you could write the date on the card, and beautiful stamps are always very welcome.

Happy postcrossing! :)
