Foghorn

I am an orchestra musician.
I enjoy bird watching.
I have seen the Aurora Borealis -- it was incredibly beautiful. It was even more beautiful than the few total solar eclipses which I was lucky to see.
I collect town cancels (with town and date - as shown in my avatar), "franking machine" postage (also as shown in my avatar -- sometimes they are called "meter stamps"), and old postage stamps of Tuva and Mongolia.
Other hobbies are genealogy, musicological research (studying composer's manuscripts), and 3D photography -- and deciphering clearly written messages in any European language, even one not mentioned above....
I have travelled in Europe, North America, Argentina, Tuva, and Mongolia, and I spent a few unforgettable hours in old Beijing (1991).
