Hello my name is Marie,
I live surrounded by the bright colours of the tropics. I enjoy swimming in the ocean, beach walks and snorkelling. One of my goals this year is to learn how to play my beautiful Luna ukulele.
I am particularly lucky to be able to start each day enjoying the sights and sounds of a large variety of birds going about their business which helps sate my curiosity regarding all things wildlife. I often go on camping trips with my husband to view some of the amazing wildlife that we have here in Australia. We have also been to Borneo to see the Orangutans in the Danum valley which had been a life long dream of mine.
The person I admire most is Fred Hollows an ophthalmologist who became known for his work in restoring eyesight to countless thousands of people in Australia and many other countries. It has been estimated that more than one million people in the world can see today because of this man. proof that one person can make a difference!
A few things that bring me pleasure are...
the luminosity of the night sky, getting lost in a good book, eating delicious food, going to the movies, the space of the Australian outback, learning new things, early morning cups of tea, sunrises and sunsets, the night before Christmas, birdsong, getting postcards in the mail and practising living happily ever after!
