About Fabienne...

Well hello there!

I'm an 19 year old Dutch girl living in a tiny European North sea climate country called the Netherlands. We're famous for our cheese, windmills, wooden shoes, tulips and toleration on drugs. Which doesn't mean we're all a bunch of farmers dressed like it's 1852, our every day meal is a plate of potatoes and Gouda cheese, and most certainly we're not high 24/7. At least, I'm not.

I get easily distracted. Certainly I am a dreamer, but I haven't really had the guts or the opportunity to pursue most of them yet. I like music. I like going to festivals in the summer. I love all kinds of arts, trying to express myself though them, or/and admiring other people's work. But my biggest weakness is my love for animals of mostly any kind.

Furthermore, and one of the main reasons I joined postcrossing, is that I have a big interest for different cultures. And then mostly the stories and the everyday life of the people behind them. As I mentioned before, I am a dreamer. And one of my dreams is to travel and see the world some day. Some day...

I'll be happy to receive any card, but of course I have my favorites. For your inspiration, here's a list of postcard themes I'd really love to receive:
* wildlife or beautiful nature scenery (could be from your country, but it doesn't have to be)
* Funny and/or cute images
* Pretty food pictures
* Black and white pictures (with or without a splash of colour)
* (modern) Art
* Travel-related cards (maps, suite cases, roadsigns and stuff)
* Nature
* Dogs
* Piglets
* Donkeys
* Wolves
* Other animals
* Selfmade cards
* and for the last, I don't know how easy they are to get around the world, but if you find a card with the artwork of Alex Clark ( website: http://www.alexclarkart.co.uk/ ) it would be amazing! I adore those cards.

double sided cards (folded cards) are perfectly fine too. Although I prefer them not to be birthday/marriage/congratulations/get well soon/good luck/birth/funeral/etc. themed... ;)

If you're having trouble thinking of what you should write, tell me something about yourself! What you do for a living, your hobbies, what a regular day for you looks like, the habits in your country, and so on. Teach me a saying in your language. Tell me what music you like to listen to. Recommend me an artist. Tell me a book that I should read. A movie I should watch.
Don't be shy to write me a letter/longer story. I would love to read it! Honestly, if I were to receive a postcard in the mail with no more than 'greetings from...' or ' happy postcrossing' on it, I would be slightly disappointed...so, please, if you don't mind. I love a good read :D

If you don't mind using an envelope, it would be very kind if you include a little thing from your region. Anything from a dried flower, to a coin of small value, a piece of a local newspaper, or even a used bus or trainticket. As long as you can miss it. :)
