Hello everybody!

My name is Alena and I participate in this project because the idea of sending and receiving postcards from all over the world fascinates me. I'm 20, study languages at university and believe that every one can make a difference.

Sometimes I think that I should have been born a century earlier, so maybe some retro-style / vintage (!) cards will set me at peace with today's world.

I enjoy travelling, but unfortunately the scholarship cannot take me far from home. Please, let me see your country through your eyes. It would be nice to receive something authentic, folklore, typical of your region (!). Something inspiring enough to make me put the place on my places-one-must-see-before-he-dies list.

If you come across a postcard dealing with theatre (!), festivals, carnivals, please, DO send it to Belarus. I would be overwhelmingly grateful!

I also like art postcards, so if you have a favourite artist or a photographer I'd like to share the moments of beauty with you. Please, write what this or that work of art means on the whole and for you personally.

And, oh, if you are still following me, please, keep in mind to write something in your language (preferably with translation). As a linguist, I would appreciate it. Any book or film advice is always welcome.

In my turn I promise to be a good postcrosser (anyway, this activity justifies my spending hours in a bookshop =)
