I do LOVE languages!
You may write in any language provided you use Latin/Greek/Cyrillic alphabet (although I love it, it hasn't always to be english) - I love figuring out the language and the meaning.

I'd love to collect phrases in as many languages as possible, in which names are a placeholder for unspecified people, for 'everyone', like
- Tom, Dick and Harry
- Pierre, Paul ou Jacques (french)
- Hinz und Kunz (german)
- Fulano y Mengano (spanish)
- Matti and Maija Meikäläinen (finnish)

My long-term goal is to be able to communicate in at least one language from each of the ten branches of the indo-european language family.
I just have started learning Russian and I'm also updating my (Modern) Greek and Spanish.
Languages I plan to learn in the distant future
2025: Farsi
2027: Albanian
2029: Hindi or Bengali or Romani
2031: Lithuanian
2033: Welsh or Breton
2035: Armenian

I'm living in an nice little city in the middle of Germany on the banks of the Rhine river - surrounded by vineyards.
Besides languages I'm interested in geography, history and the diversity of countries and cultures. And also physics (this is my professional background). I'm also collecting (and enjoying) wine.

I love receiving postcards which show what makes your place (town/city or county/state/province) special - landscapes, buildings, people, customs - it should somehow be connected to your place (please not some generic postcard or postcard from other places, if possible). Tourist postcards are perfectly fine.

I appreciate every postcard.
