I'm a 33-year-old woman (rather girl :D) who moved from Frankfurt/Main to small and lovely town Pleidelsheim (near Stuttgart) in summer 2017. I'm educated as a tailoress and fashion designer, last working as a garment technologist for a service provider where I was checking and improving fit and workmanship of the clothes. Unfortunately I lost my job due to Corona in October 2020 due to many cancelled orders, all clients trying to save money. I'm happy for whatever warm, encouraging words or advice you have as I've never been in this situation before and I'm struggeling with having no task to do all day, being in lockdown and also with dark and cold winter days. Update: Feeling so much better already with a bit warmer and brighter days, I'm a summer girl :) Also found some smaller tasks to keep myself busy (walking dogs in the neighborhood, voluntary help at the local animal shelter etc.). Lockdown is not as hard anymore, so I could re-start taking horseback riding lessons which is fun! And I got out the old Polaroid 600 from my parents and bought some films, new hobby ❤️ Love it!
I enjoy anything that includes creativity. Furthermore I spend a lot of my time reading, especially teenage or Coming-of-Age stuff for which I'm too old, but who cares? ;) Also listening to music and attending concerts and festivals is a big part of my life; mostly rock and singer/songwriter stuff. I feel really dried out without live music now in Corona times :( My favourite band is HIM from Finland (Finns, please use that gorgeous pink HIM stamp if you still have any around ❤️ but I'm also happy for Nightwish, Apocalyptica etc.). I'm also very fond of Ryan Adams, Conor Oberst and all this Americana singer/songwriter stuff.
Besides gothic and surrealistic stuff, dark thingies and cemeteries, I love My Little Pony, Hello Kitty, Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears and other colourful, childish things :) Also neon colours, especially everything hot pink, cards in unusual shapes and handmade cards. Also cardboard from food packaging and similar is welcome; although it is something daily it looks exotic when it comes from another country.
I really like BIG cats, especially cheetahs, leopards and jaguars as you can see from my profile picture :) And I am totally obsessed with dogs ❤️ I grew up with German shepherds, but now unfortunately cannot have my own dog due to (usually) working full-time and living alone in a flat without garden. Hope I can have my own dog again in future!
Please take the time to send a handwritten card, not just print a uniform text on it or - even worse - a blank card. And a request for Russian postcrossers: Please write in English, not in Cyrillic letters. I cannot understand anything otherwise and this is quite frustrating.
And please remember to write the ID and check it - I received several cards with wrong or completely missing IDs which is really exhausting.
Thank you everyone!
