My name is Carolin, or Carrie for short, and I'm a 22-year-old University student from Germany. I study English and Spanish. I absolutely love learning foreign languages and I have been hopelessly in love with the English language since I had my first English lesson when I was 10 years old.

I've been collecting postcards from all over the world for as long as I can remember so I was delighted to come across this community.

My passions are travelling, literature, film and theatre (I love acting more than anything!), and exploring new places and cultures.

I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to films, TV shows and books. Alright, more than a bit. In the last couple of years I've developed an undeniable fondness for British television, I'm absolutely crazy about the BBC's Sherlock and Doctor Who:) My favourite films include: almost everything by Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino, Fight Club, The Lord of the Rings, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Harold and Maude, various animated Disney movies, and many, many more. My favourite books are Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close(J.S. Foer), The Lord of the Rings(J.R.R. Tolkien), the Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling), the Sherlock Holmes novels and short stories(A.C. Doyle) The Metamorphosis (F. Kafka), Peter Pan (J.M. Barrie), Der Steppenwolf (H. Hesse), and others.

Travelling is another passion of mine. Countries I've visited are Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, the UK, and the USA. But there are so, so many more fantastic places left to see!
I was a foreign exchange student in the US when I was 16 (2006-2007) and and I'm currently doing an ERASMUS semester abroad in England! I absolutely love it!:)

I'd be happy about any kind of postcard, but especially ones that show something special about your city and/or country. I'd also be extremely happy about postcards to do with my favourite TV shows or films! I'd like you to add a little random fact about yourself on the back:)
