My name is Carita, married and mother of adult son and daughter. Hobbies are Postcrossing, handiwork, art, taking photos, traveling, swim, garden work, SUP summertime and snowshoewalks when we have enough snow.

Fnland= Swedish, belong to the Swedish speaking minority of 300.000. Finland was a part of Sweden for more than 600 years before Russian era 1809-1917. "Finland" = "fenland" (marshland), in Finnish language suomaa -> Suomi. There is 2 ha fenland for each of us. Original inhabitants were Sami people. Official languages are Finnish, Swedish and up north in Lapland also Sami.

The Kalmar Union from 1397-1523 joined under the rule of Margaret of Denmark The three kingdoms of Denmark, Sweden with Finland and Norway with Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the Northern isles - totally 3.000.000 square kilometers. Visited beautiful Quaqortok in southern Greenland some years ago, dream to stay there for one month summertime.
