About Bob...

I am 53 years old and live in Kentville, in Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley, on the east coast of Canada. I am married to Angela and our son Reid is a film student in Halifax. We have a charming cat- Tazie. I am a lawyer practicing real estate law. I have run seven marathons in my life and am a Fitbit enthusiast. I am a Chelsea football fan and enjoy playing Texas Hold'em. I am a big fan of Game of Thrones and watch a lot of Netflix. I love Russia and just visited my long term pen pal in St. Petersburg. We met on Postcrossing six years ago.

We have travelled throughout Canada, through the New England States, and have been to Chicago, Las Vegas and Hawaii. I have also visited the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, Germany and Russia. My spouse and I have great plans to travel even more in the future! In the meantime postcards allow me to travel to the four corners of the World, from the comfort of my own home.

I enjoy all types of postcards, but have a particular interest in:

Humorous themes
Something different- colorful,wild or wacky
Famous people (entertainers, politicians, historical figures, writers, musicians, royalty)
Famous paintings by the Masters
Old cartoons/caricatures
Sports themes-stadiums/players/teams
Business/financial/stock markets
Neat beach/surf scenes
Castles and old buildings
Universities
Russian history and architecture
Old vintage black and white scenes
Map cards.

I am an Anne of Green Gables fan, and I note there are many others World-wide on Postcrossing. I have a large variety of Anne and PEI postcards. If you are interesting in starting/building your collection, and getting some insights into the whole Anne experience, just send me an email and we can arrange some swaps.

Postcards appeal to me so much because they forever capture a moment in time- through the picture, the message, the date, the stamp, the postmark, even the bends in the card.

I really enjoy the Postcrossing system- discovering who my next postcard will go to, and seeing where the next one will arrive from. I am open, on occasion, to both private swaps and regular exchanges to advance my collecting goals and those of other members.

Happy Postcrossing, Bob
