About Valeriya...

[IF YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE IS Russian, Belorussian, Polish, French, German, Bulgarian, Italian, Spanish or Greek, PLEASE WRITE ALL THE TEXT IN YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE: I would be pleased by that very much. Thanks!]

[Can you teach me your native language? Please write a phrase in your native language in your postcards and give its translation. Thanks!]

Hello, dear postcrossers!

My name is Valeriya, I'm from Ukraine. I study History at Kyiv National University, although my native city is Kharkiv, one of the largest in Ukraine. I adore foreign cultures and learning foreign languages: I speak five languages and learn Spanish, Greek and Latin. I need the Greek language for my Byzantine history studies, which I like really much (and I hope that once I'll get my Ph.D. =) ). I also like to get knowledge in science and anthropology: these pieces of knowledge help me to play intellectual games like "What? Where? When?". And newly I've discovered JavaScript for myself: it's very interesting! My passion is reading: I like historical and science fiction, ancient literature and philosophical works the most. In music I prefer different types of metal (my favorite band is Rammstein), but I often listen to the classical music. My favorite composers are Franz Liszt and Sergey Rakhmaninov. I dream to learn playing the piano and I believe I’m not late. I adore ancient and medieval culture, European modernist and vanguard painting. Also, I'm a big admirer of Vincent Van Gogh's works. I like travelling, I’d like to go to France, Germany, Greece and Netherlands.

I would like to receive postcards showing:

- pictures related to the history of your country;
- folklore of your nation, national clothes, holidays, food etc.;
- ancient and medieval culture: arts, buildings, personalities;
- castles and fortresses;
- attractions and curiosities of your country;
- UNESCO World Heritage;
- Vincent Van Gogh's paintings;
- Italian and (especially) Northern Renaissance paintings and other arts;
- reproductions of other paintings, famous or not much;
- pictures by Katsushika Hokusai or other masters of ukiyo-e (japanese woodprints);
- old books, reproductions of book illustrations (especially The Little Prince and European tales);
- music and musical instruments, music sheets;
- waterfalls, rivers and mounts.

Feel free to check my faves;)
Any other card will make me happy too:) But please no ads or self-printed cards.

If possible, please use stamps related to my wish list or nice non-standart art stamps.

If you have no idea what to write, I'll appreciate:
- something about you;
- some facts about the history of your place;
- something that describes your country and nation the best;
- your favorite quote, poem, recipy, your motto etc.
I really enjoy such information. And it's always nice to be amazed :)

And please don't forget about a little phrase in your native language=)

Looking forward to your postcards!
Thank you very much!
Enjoy the life! Good luck and happy postcrossing!
